Dear customers, friends, and business partners
On the occasion of Christmas and the turn of the year, the time of reflection is upon us. Last year, I wrote that changes in purchasing patterns, technology, and globalization, amongst others, mean that we can forget about “business as usual” – the future is “business as unusual”. When inflation, declining consumer confidence, and war close by, to top it all off, I think we can agree that the only thing that is certain – is that most things are uncertain.
A more functional app
At TimePlan, we, fortunately, believe that digitization and the opportunity to use time valuably will not immediately go out of style. In terms of development, we have continued to work in three main areas. We are constantly cleaning up parts of our program where rewriting (refactoring) is needed. Over the course of the year, we have delivered more functionality in our app. Herein, approval of absences, switching shifts, and driving can be handled by the managers directly within the app – and as promised last year, the app is now also available on the AppStore and Google Play; all based on wishes from our customers. The option of using GeoFencing in the app has just been released with the last main release and approval of time registrations in the app will be the next release. The collaboration and integration with 2people on a complete HR solution for recruitment and employee development have been further developed and we now have several happy customers who use this option. We had hoped that TimePlan Analytics (Business Intelligence) would be live, but it will have to wait until the new year. Therefore, there is something to look forward to. With rewrites and further development, it is unavoidable that errors will, unfortunately, slip through despite a significant expansion of our testing capacity. We try to resolve them as quickly, safely, and professionally as possible. Thus, rewrites, new development, and bug-fixing are the three areas of development we focus on.
We value the trust of our customers
We truly appreciate the cooperation and trust of our customers, and we do our best to be available and helpful toward them. There is no doubt that the factors mentioned in my introduction also have a major impact on our customers’ opportunities and challenges. Fortunately, it seems that the vast majority of our customers continue to have a positive development – and turn challenges into new opportunities.
Change of ownership
Additionally, 2022 was the year in which TimePlan changed its ownership. Back in November, our founder and the owner of TimePlan, Henrik Baasch, sold the company to Main Capital Partners, who are now the new majority shareholder. To the delight of management and employees, Henrik is still part of the ownership circle, and the management sees Main Capital Partners as the right owner. Main Capital Partners is a leading software investor in Benelux, DACH, and the Nordics and has been around for almost 20 years. TimePlan’s new investor has a tradition of working closely with the management teams of its portfolio companies as a strategic partner that implements sustainable growth and creates outstanding software companies. Merely one month into the partnership, we are convinced that this new partnership brings increased momentum, energy, and development to TimePlan.
At TimePlan, we are still aware that “business as unusual” means that we cannot be content with simply being ready for change. We must be – and we are – transformative. That is why we always are thrilled about the flexibility and effort our colleagues here at TimePlan portray. With testing and stability paramount, we will work on a solid platform for the continued development of a solution that is innovative and open to integration. Now alongside Main Capital Partners.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year
We are looking forward to a continued good and fruitful collaboration in 2023.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at TimePlan Software,
Rex A. Clausager
